International Conference “Cultural policies in the context of the Republic of Moldova’s association with the European Union”

On March 19, 2019, the International Conference “Cultural policies in the context of the Republic of Moldova’s association with the European Union” was held in Chisinau.
The objective of the event was to analyze the situation in the country’s culture and the results of the implementation of the “Culture 2020” Culture Development Strategy, as well as some successful practices of culture reforms in the ex-socialist EU countries.
The event was attended by researchers and professionals from the field of culture from Moldova, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Sovacia. Representatives of the diplomatic missions in Poland and Slovakia welcomed the audience and appreciated the initiative.
The conference is the first activity of the project “Innovative Cultural Policies for Moldova”. Its purpose is to develop a set of recommendations to the Moldovan decision-making bodies in order to make cultural policies more efficient in the context of the implementation of the National Development Strategy “Moldova 2020”.
The project is implemented by the Center for Cultural Policies and the Institute for Legal, Political and Sociological Research with the support of the Visegrad Fund, in partnership with Budapest Observatory (Hungary), Adam Mickiewicz University (Poland), Creative Industry Forum (Slovakia) and Institut umění – Divadelní ústav (Czech Republic).
